Science has promised me far too much in the way of expanding the human being into a lean, active and strong machine, yet has failed to ever pay off anything. What has science really ever done for us? Think about it, has anything in the last few thousand years helped us - even science as simple as knowing the shape of the Earth (hyperbolic paraboloid) has this really benefited us in any meaningful or tangible way?
I don't think it has. Science only briefly peaked when a Turkish man used steam to rotate kebab, beyond that, it has not made my life any better.
Here's my problem with medical science: doctors do not know anything. My court mandated therapy sessions have NOT helped me. They make me talk about my feelings, write down my thoughts, try to find patterns between when I switch personality into my manic and murderous rages, but they haven't solved anything. Do they do anything but make me feel like a problematic person? Is that their only purpose? It sure feels like it.
They tell me that my body is sick and ill and heading towards a stroke, but to fix it I must move more. Well understand this, science boy, when I move my body too much I taste the metallic tang of iron gracing my tongue in sanguine syrup extracting tangy mesquite flavours from my own being. What am I supposed to do about that, keep pushing through the breathless paces as my mouth fills with blood? Yeah, right.
I'll start trusting science when science starts providing results.
